Frequently Asked Questions

All our products are designed and printed in the UK, most of them at our workshop in Scotland.

Cath creates and designs at her studio on the Isle of Skye and also has a workshop in Grangemouth in central Scotland.  All our ceramic gift products, including tiles, mugs and coasters, all our wood block art and all our jewellery are printed and finished by a small team at Cath’s workshop.  We produce most of our own giclee prints too, and either frame them ourselves or send them to our framers in Edinburgh.  The rest of our products, e.g. cards, notepads and table mats are produced in the UK as locally as possible.

Many of our gift items, homeware, jewellery and wall art (including mini and standard prints) will  take 5 working days to make and dispatch. Delivery is usually next day following dispatch.

XL and XL Giclee prints may take up to 14 days for dispatch.

Canvas prints need to be printed in Edinburgh and posted to us on Skye for signing before sending out to you so please allow extra time for dispatch.  Shipping from Skye to the rest of the country may take longer than usual and tracking details may not be active until your parcel is scanned by Parcelforce in Inverness.  Please allow around 4 weeks for canvas delivery.

Small items are posted by 1st Class Royal Mail and larger items including standard framed prints are posted via Parcelforce 24.

Tracking info will be provided for standard framed prints and Giclee prints and international orders.  Proof of postage and delivery is always obtained.

A Giclee is a print produced using a fine art digital high resolution printing process which uses pigment (rather than dye) based inks and extremely high quality archival / museum grade paper to achieve prints of superior detail, light fastness and stability.
We do most of our own Giclee printing to ensure our prints are of the highest quality. We only print on archival quality, cotton rag, fine art paper. When combined with our 12 colour pigment ink printing system, we can achieve perfect colour reproduction and produce beautiful prints that will look as good as new for 80+ years.

Digital collage can mean any form of collage assembled or created using a computer.   My process starts off on location where I take digital photographs of the landscape.   Back in the studio I use a computer to blend the landscape photography with sections of additional photographs to add texture, colour and depth.  Examples of these “textures” are shown below.  They can be photographs of painting or mixed media or photographs and scans of surfaces such as rocks, peeling paint, scratched metal, rust, fabric, old paper….all sorts of unusual things.  Each finished piece might have between 10 and 20 layers of collage in addition to the original landscape photograph.

The process used to combine the collage elements is digital so no physical originals exist.

Mini and Standard sized prints are available to buy ready framed here on the website. Frames can be seen below. Larger prints are usually shipped rolled in poster tubes for you to take to your local framer.

Our XL and XXL Giclee prints and canvases are all signed, titled and numbered Limited Editions. Smaller Giclee prints are signed and titled open editions. Edition size may vary for specific images but is always 250 or less. Please ask if you require more info.
